Greater Strength and Ability 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport is Scheduled to Launch |
Honda is, uh, teasing us again after releasing a new teaser for the 2026 Passport TrailSport earlier this summer. Only the vehicle's outline, seen from the front, was shown in the previous announcement. We now have comprehensive, well-lit images of the Passport TrailSport engaging in thrilling off-road activities, including as scaling boulders, crossing streams, and looking triumphantly over conquered terrain. The images are clear, but a camouflage wrap hides the new Passport's features. Honda is, well, teasing us again after revealing an upgraded 2026 Passport TrailSport earlier in the summer. Even so, the carmaker has teased certain features for the 2026 Passport TrailSport, stating that its engineers have been testing it "from the red rocks of Moab to the sandy dunes of western Michigan to the muddy trails of Appalachia." Honda claims that the TrailSport will be equipped with a standard torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system, a 10-speed automatic transmission with "high-strength," and a more potent 3.5-liter V-6 engine.Even so, the carmaker has teased certain features for the 2026 Passport TrailSport, stating that its engineers have been testing it "from the red rocks of Moab to the sandy dunes of western Michigan to the muddy trails of Appalachia." Gazing Through the Mask
We anticipate that the Passport's powerplant will be the same as the one that made its debut in the larger SUV for the 2023 model year, considering its similar resemblance to the three-row Pilot. The Pilot's V-6, which still has a 3.5-liter displacement, produces 285 horsepower and 262 pounds-feet of torque—5 horsepower and 262 pound-feet more than the 2025 Passport, but no more torque. The Pilot's automatic transmission, which has an additional gear ratio compared to the Passport's nine-speed, also matches the teaser's description. Likewise, Honda said at the time that the 2023 Pilot's second-generation AWD technology could manage 40% more torque.
